Essential information

Eligibility

Kenya has opened its borders, transitioning to a visa-free regime for all nationalities. However, a visa-free regime means that you must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) rather than a traditional consulate visa. You can apply for your eTA directly on the official Republic of Kenya eTA portal (The Electronic Travel Authorization of Kenya (eTA) Official Government website).

To apply, applicants must provide all required documents, including a passport, photograph, flight itinerary, and confirmation of accommodation (such as your resort booking in Diani).

Documents required

Valid passport (must be valid for at least six (6) months after your planned date of arrival into Kenya, with at least one blank page).
Recent passport-style photograph or a "selfie" taken during the application process.
Contact details (email address and phone number).
Details of your arrival and departure itinerary.
Accommodation booking confirmation in Diani Beach.
Credit card, debit card, or Apple Pay/Google Pay for the processing fee.

Service fee and processing time

Processing feeapprox. USD $32.70
Processing timeUp to 72 hours

The standard processing fee for the Kenya eTA is approximately USD $32.70 (inclusive of processing charges). Processing typically takes up to 72 hours (3 working days). We strongly advise travellers to submit their eTA application immediately after booking their flights and accommodation.

No. You will not be permitted to board your flight to Kenya (either to Nairobi or Mombasa) without a pre-approved eTA. There are no on-arrival eTA facilities.
Yes. Every individual traveller, including infants and children, must have their own approved eTA. Families can apply together as a group on the official portal to streamline the process.
Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining and at least one blank page. Print a copy of your approved eTA or save it to your mobile device, as you will need to present it at immigration upon arrival.
